The core of the course, which is unique in Germany, is a cross-disciplinary study programme consisting of engineering and natural science content in the field of battery technology. It aims to enable students to understand and work on problems along the entire battery value chain from a holistic, interdisciplinary approach. In addition to its interdisciplinary nature, the clear engineering science character of the degree programme provides graduates with excellent career prospects in industry, business and science.

Students benefit in particular from the proximity to the "Bavarian Centre for Battery Technology" (BayBatt) at the University of Bayreuth. Here, national and international experts conduct research in the field of battery technology in a supra-regional, interdisciplinary centre of excellence.

The study programme Battery Technology (M.Sc.) will start in the winter semester 2022/23. Particularly excellent and motivated applicants can apply for research scholarships.
